Music for you and your friend

There wasn't really any "great" way to share music without sharing headphones, or that portable speakers.
MyStream is the solution!

MyStream is a new application for the iPhone, which "pairs" with your friend's iPhone music list, to show your music.
Let's say you have a nice song you want your friend/friend's to listen to. Just share with MyStream! Everyone can now listen to the song on there own devices (a way for germs not to spread).
Also get 30 seconds to listen to a track on iTunes, before you decide to purchase it.

new Blogger stuff!

Blogger isn't really as good as wordpress when it comes to Ideas and themes...
but will the new technology of html 5 put it in the game?

ALERT: Facebook security update!

Facebook security! what you need to know....

From time to time my ears hear stuff that they wouldn't like to hear, like people being hacked on Facebook.
You keep all of your info on your Facebook right: email, interests, Family and friends. If you are compromised all of your friends are also!

This leads to a Lot of questions.
But there is one simple answer, Go to (and you can trust me) account settings and  chose the drop down list of account security, check mark both HTTP and when someone (other than you) log in that it must email you!

You are now in an encrypted mode, It lowers your risk of being hacked....
on next log in you will be asked for a new computer name, type in any name that you prefer and make sure you remember it (Tip: don't give a computer name at an internet cafe, only to your personal computer). The only reason for this is if someone (other than you) logs in from another computer you will be notified through email.

An HTTP encrypted mode is also available on twitter, mainly any site you visit (you just have to check the settings)
Having accounts encrypted, is just another layer of security. Lets say you are on a phishing site, your account will recognize your not on HTTP and you will not be able to send your account info tho the server of the phishing site.

What about my firewall then?
Your firewall is only one part of security, although a good one might block hackers on your Computer, what happens when your offline? You can never say when will you be hacked, (if you think you will never be hacked think again)  there are many ways of hacking account's: Phishing sites, key loggers, viruses, hacking you through command prompt etc.
some av's protect phishing sites but might miss some.

Remember: it's better to be safe than sorry!

Amazon cloud player

Amazon cloud player is web based, which means it runs inside the browser. there is also a android version.
Being a tech guy, I have tried many stuff form Grooveshark, last.fm to Pandora.
I also use iTunes, and always need sync with my mp3 player or iPhone  before I can listing to music somewhere els other than my main computer.

on Amazon cloud it's deferent, when I buy a song, it automatically sync it to the cloud (virtual space on the world wide internet), Which I can access from my android or iPhone. Also when I am not at my computer, lets say I am traveling with my laptop I can access my media a purchased from a WiFi hotspot.
all I need is internet.

This is something new although you have to pay for the song's (which in my opinion isn't making the product worse) because every one needs to make money.

How to Get Started with Cloud Drive and Cloud Player

Step 1. Buy music and save it to Cloud Drive
Purchase a song or album from the Amazon MP3 Store and click the Save to your Amazon Cloud Drive button when your purchase is complete. Your purchase will be stored for free and will not count against your storage quota.

Step 2. Play your music in Cloud Player for Web
Click the Launch Amazon Cloud Player button to start listening to your purchase. Use Cloud Player to browse and search your library, create playlists, and download to your computer.

Step 3. Add more music from your personal library
From the Cloud Player screen, click the Upload to your Cloud Drive button. All customers start with 5 GB of free Cloud Drive storage. Upgrade to 20 GB with an MP3 album purchase (see details).

Step 4. Enjoy your music on the go with the Amazon MP3 app featuring Cloud Player
Install the Amazon MP3 for Android app to use Cloud Player on your Android device. Shop the full Amazon MP3 store, save your purchases to Cloud Drive, stream your Cloud Player library, and download to your device right from your Android phone or tablet.

Fruity loops studio 10

The new fruity loops studio 10 is released!
DJ loves this software (even I, who am not a DJ)

I bought 9 for myself and really thought it was the best DJ program (better than virtual DJ)
Although it cost's a "small" fortune, it's worth the buy!

New thing in version 10

What can FL Studio do?

  • Audio editing and manipulation including pitch correction, pitch shifting, harmonization, time-stretching, beat-detection & slicing, audio warping and standard audio manipulation (cut/paste etc).

  • Be hosted in other DAWs as a VST or connected through ReWire.
  • Live music performance including video effect visualization.
  • Mix and remix audio including apply realtime audio effects including delay, reverb & filtering.
  • Multi-track audio recording.
  • Record & play MIDI input recording from keyboards, drum pads and controllers.
  • Sequencing and arranging.
  • Synthesizer & effect plugin hosting (VST 32 & 64 bit, DX and FL Native format)

Instruments

Make virtually any sound - FL Studio 10 includes over 30 software synthesizers covering acoustic/synthetic bass,
electric guitar, multi-sampler tools including piano & strings, general sample playback and beat-slicing
(With Rex 1 & 2 support).
Synthesis techniques - Synthesizer plugins span subtractive, modelling, FM, RM, granular and additive
synthesis modes. With the addition of FL SynthMaker (included with Producer Edition or higher) you can
even create & share your own FL instruments, effects & MIDI control dashboards without the need to write
 basic code.
If you understand synthesizers & FX you will be working with FL Synthmaker in minutes.

Open plugin standards - FL Studio supports all PC industry plugin instrument standards including
VSTi (1/2/3), DXi(1/2), Buzz and Rewire. This means you can sequence with your favorite plugins and applications.

Audio Recording & Editing

Multi-channel audio inputs - With the ability to simultaneously capture all the inputs on your audio-interface,
FL Studio has the flexibility to record a single vocalist, guitar or a full symphony orchestra. Bring your
own orchestra!
Arranging audio - Arrange audio with complete freedom in the Playlist. Features include the ability to host
an unlimited number of audio recordings, time-stretching, pitch-shifting, beat-slicing, cropping, editing,
slip-editing and re-arranging of audio with only a few mouse clicks.

Edison is an integrated audio editing and recording tool with spectral analysis, convolution reverb,
noise reduction, loop-recording, loop-construction tools and more.
Pitch correction - Available as an additional purchase, for far less than you would expect,
Image-Line have two amazing pitch correction and manipulation plugins discounted exclusively for FL
Studio owners.
Newtone is a professional pitch-correction and time manipulation editor. Slice, correct, edit vocals,
instrumentals and other recordings like they are MIDI notes & even convert audio to MIDI.
Pitcher is a real-time pitch-correction and manipulation plugin that can also create 4-voice harmonies
under MIDI control.

FL Studio supports WAV, MP3, OGG, WavPack, AIFF, and REX audio formats.

Sequencing

Compose and record your musical performances and ideas in the most logical way.

Pattern or track sequencing - Record your musical performances and ideas in the most logical way. FL Studio 10 can simultaneously function as a pattern and track based sequencer. Reuse patterns as Pattern Clips in the Playlist
 or record
song-length sequences, as desired.
Step sequencer or Piano roll - Scoring tools include FL Studio’s legendary Step-sequencer, one of the most
 advanced
Piano rolls in any software studio, event and multipoint automation envelopes. FL Studio supports MIDI input,
standard controller compatibility, and the ability to simultaneously control multiple instrument channels
from separate controllers.

Arranging

FL Studio gives you freedom to do what you want where and when you want.

Determine your own project design - Unlike the competition, FL Studio's Playlist is a totally flexible and
virtually unbounded workspace where Note Pattern, Audio and Automation data can be arranged
and edited to suit your creative ideas and preferred workflow.

Mixing & Mastering

FL Studio provides all the tools you need to produce your tracks to the highest professional standards.

The mixer - FL Studio Mixer includes an advanced mixer that is about precision, control and flexibility.
Each of the 99 stereo insert-tracks can hold up to 8 effects (VST, DX or FL's native format). If you need more
FX in a chain just route one track to another to gain an additional 8 FX slots and another if you want,
you get the idea. Indeed, to create sub-mixes or mixing chains of almost unlimited complexity,
each mixer track can be routed to any other or number of other mixer tracks, one of 4 dedicated 'send'
channels and or the Master track.
Sends provide the  ability to sidechain inputs and outputs to multi-input effects plugins. Finally, each of the
mixer tracks can be routed to  any output on your audio interface (to create surround mixes for example), now
 that’s flexibility.
Effects - FL Studio includes more than 40 effects spanning maximization, limiting, compression, delay, distortion,
equalization (graphic & parametric), filtering, phasing, flanging, chorus, vocoding and reverb.
These have you covered for the creative broad-brush effects, through to the minutia of the mastering process.

Open plugin standards – FL Studio supports all PC industry plugin effect standards including
VST (1/2), DX(1/2), Buzz and Rewire. This means you can mix with your favorite plugins and applications.

Lifetime free updates

There may be no such thing as a ‘free lunch’ but there certainly is ‘Lifetime Free Updates’ with Image Line’s update policy.

Never pay for bug-fixes again! - Customers who purchase FL Studio receive Lifetime Free Updates by
download. Free updates entitles the customer to all future updates of FL Studio according to the edition
purchased (Express, Fruity, Producer or Signature Bundle). For example, all FL Studio 10 customers
will be able to download their free update to FL Studio 11, 12 e.t.c. That's freedom!

Phew, what a LIST!

Oh a blue Monday full of social updates.

Ubuntu~

Test drive Ubuntu applications from the Ubuntu software center!

Windows ~

The ultimate unity VS gnome 3 post.

Are you going to switch to unity after this blog post?
Or are you going to use Gnome 3?
Lets find out!

Unity

A fine piece of art work on interfaces which keeps growing. Before we know it ubuntu 11.04 is going to be here! what then?
One Distribution fully switching to unity is Ubuntu. Ubuntu creators hopes for "a more friendlier desktop", Is it going to be that way?
Is unity really for bigger screens?
How is it going to effect the user, and what they are used to?

This is questions I read on the Internet, I will answer all of these and more.

Unity is a big switch for ubuntu, it might not be easier to work with, but it really is better and faster! Although I am not a fan of unity, many will quickly adapt. Unity was first release for netbooks, but was a disaster. It required a lot of RAM and graphics power of a graphics card (everything a desktop pc has, that are not always used)
While all of this interface changes are happening, your applications stays the same (this means nothing except the interface changes)

Lets look at the interface. The close, minimise and maximise buttons sits inside the top panel
also a new "bar/dock" on the left displays: open and "pinned" applications. It also displays the hard drives and directories (folders).

The menu is way different from what we know in gnome 2.
The compize effects is still available on unity. Giving you multiple desktops.

Gnome 3 "Shell"

Gnome is the interface many uses now in ubuntu and Linux mint.
Linux mint said it will stay with gnome 2 when they release there new version.
There will be no gnome 3 ubuntu edition, that means you should compile it yourself.  Gnome 3 features a rich desktop environment which inter-grades with the applications you run, like pidgin now pops up a menu for you, if someone IM you so you can reply. This means that you won't have to switch to the application.

In plain termes!
Gnome 3, isn't launched with ubuntu. Gnome inter-grades the applications you run inside the interface.

Gnome doesn't have minimise and maximise buttons. How do I minimise a application? easy answer! you don't. instead you use desktops

   Gnome Chat menu.
Bluetooth is now easier to use.
The menu is better than unity's

Overall Gnome 3 is better, but unity is stronger.

Update : Unity
Unity is now officially launched!
After testing it, I am sad to say it sucks bad! But that doesn't mean it isn't GOOD...
the reason it "sucks" in my opinion, it isn't stable! if you want to upgrade to Unity, don't!
Upgrade to Ubuntu 11.04, but choose "classic" gnome, before log in. The reason you must upgrade is, because of the new kernel, new features etc. 11.04 is also faster on my system (speed might differ form your's)

The reason it's "good", is because for noob/ new users, it's a better way to manage open windows and applications, also makes launching stuff easier from the "dash" and the unity "bar" (on the left off your screen). Also way better screen usage, it uses the WHOLE screen to it's max (when maximizing an folder or application, the close maximize and minimize buttons, sit's inside the top "bar") It also includes a Global menu, like MAC....

So user's that used Ubuntu long before unity, I would recommend you guys stick with Gnome 2/Classic gnome, you will be heavy disappointed with unity. New user's can use unity for now.

Give unity a go, don't just kick it! Yes, there is bug's, but remember, It needs to grow. Think of a tree, a new/small tree won't give you the shade you wan't, but when it's fully grown you will have the best shade you dreamed for.

The new blog interface!

The blogs new interface.
Here is some quick navigating tips:
On the top you would see the new header.

On the right of your screen is the navigation pane.

Shearing stuff is now easier. Under every post you'll see this.

A better search box.
Looking now fresher and ready for  serious community!

Firefox 4 on windows

Almost the same as the ubuntu post, but I have more to say on the windows edition.

Microsoft thought that they had the all in one browser, but sadly they didn't!
IE9 is only compatible on windows vista and windows 7, due to "graphics and performance changes than to windows xp"
xp Was left out by Microsoft, But firefox came and said: "we will not tolerate that windows xp users are left out of the HTML 5 web beauty" although it wouldn't really work on xp cause of it lack of graphics performance, they didn't hassle do code firefox for windows xp also (by the way it works good on windows xp)

Download now for windows:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/

Firefox 4 on Ubuntu!

We all have been waiting very long for Firefox 4.

Since my last post on firefox 4 Beta a year ago, Updates, betas, RC's (release candidate) and more was released . It was a really long road to get to where we are today...
In total there were + - 8 betas and + - 2 RC's. Mozilla was aiming high, they wanted to have the best web experience on both the interface and HTML 5.
I must say they have outdone themselves!
This leads us to the big final

Installing this on ubuntu:
Terminal
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install firefox ubufox

And if you really don't want half minefield
DON'T Do the last *sudo
just do
sudo apt-get install firefox

Bodhi linux

What, when, were?
It's Bodhi!
Bodhi Linux is a new Linux distro based on ubuntu 10.4.
ubuntu which runs debian package manager, is fast secure and customisable to your liking. ubuntu currently use Gnome and KDE interfaces, This is why Bodhi is here. Bodhi uses Enlightenment  (a really fast Interface manager for slower computers, but are even faster on newer computers)
Bodhi is really light and small, 379 megabytes (may defer since updates and fixes).
it is currently in beta stage but it's runs great .
go try it today www.bodhilinux.com

To find the right computer mouse.

Finding the right one isn't that hard, some people are just stupid , while other tends to find the perfect one.

I am one of those who spend a lot off time bhind my computer and dus I need a good mouse.
currently i am using the Buttonless mouse: Genius Traveller 525 Laser
It woks perfectly for me. There are a lot of choices like going wireless or buying a great wired mouse. I found the Logitech M215 to bee good for laptops, and the Logitech Anywhere MX to be good for netbooks, laptops and desktops.

for a more expensive experience the Logitech trackball mouse series is very good. My self also love the mouses genius makes for the quality and productivity of the mouse, the Ergo 525X Laser
and the Navigator 380 is great genius mouses, I love my genius Traveler 525 Laser.

what mouse do you have?

Linux's viruses becoming a reality?

We all know, that there are a lot of viruses for windows, but for Linux I don't think so.
Security makers are gearing up for the arriving day.

Eset NOD32 security have a running beta product, It detects windows/Linux viruses.
Now wow, why does it need to detect windows viruses?
It is said a million times, if you have a windows machine connected with a Linux machine the possibility of the virus transferring over to your windows machine is big.

It's light, very light and detects stuff fast!

Linux is very popular for netbooks and laptops even some servers and desktop PC's

Is it really a possibility that viruses might be near for us Linux users?

to go get eset beta Linux ~ http://beta.eset.com/linux

Opera 11.10 browser

Yes it's a new opera browser, opera 11.10, codename: barracuda

which promises to have faster speeds better navigation better add-ons etc.
But what they are trying to accomplish is to focus more on the desktop, there threying to be the next big Browser beating IE9, Google chrome, Firefox 4 etc.

"In 2011, Opera will have a relentless focus on desktop," said Jan Standal, VP of Desktop Products, Opera Software.

Check it out....

Internet explorer 9 is almost here.... Beauty of the web

Internet explorer is almost here and since the last post about the beta, I really hasn't seen a point in writing another post on the RC (release candidate) . It really isn't that interesting.

So here goes for the BL (before launching)
beauty of the web started out as another Microsoft browser, brining Html 5 to the table.
Quickly other browser makers and brands upgraded there browser to be Html 5 compatible.
beauty of the web adapt a new interface and feeling. making use of your GPU(Graphical processing unit)
instead of just the CPU.
there were a few bugs and nicer interface ideas to brining more eyecandy to interface.
when the RC released the experience where more smother and less buggy.
the RC was also what you were able to expect in the final version of IE9. I must say I was quite impressed on my windows machine... ( I am still an Opera and chrome user)
IE9 is only available on vista and windows 7 machines. making windows xp feel old, but hey chrome is also as good, maybe even better!

I don't really think that Internet explorer is even worth it even more, YES they brought Html 5 to the table (I think IE4 brought html to the table, not sure) but either than that there UI isn't that good compared to Firefox, Opera and chrome
the disable add-ons pop-up is annoying.
I must say it's faster, but chrome is also fast :(.
the UI's layout is stupid, who want the tabs to be next to the URL. blocking the view of the URL (who knows if your on the right site or a scam site?)
also the add-ons bar wasn't improved in the RC (nothing more to say about it till in final release)
wasn't there hiccups on Facebook? let's hope that gets fixed.
and isn't there security holes?
but other than that it's completely better than IE8/IE7

what do you think?

Is cleaning your pc really that easy?!

You can now clean you computer inside out with the help from a local gas station with a high compression pump.

Is it necessary to clean my computer inside?
Yes, having a dusty computer can lead you to pay more $$$$. Many parts inside the computer can break and degrade if it isn't clean.

It really isn't that hard to do, and don't cost a lot of money. Would you rather take half an hour of your time to go and clean your pc, or have to pay money for fixing it?
An half an hour, 3-4 months is all it takes!

Remember! Not only your computer inside gets dirty and dusty, many labs have reported that there are more germs on your computer keyboard than on a toilet!
Cleaning the screen, keyboard, and mouse can also prolong there lives. Just remember to use the CORRECT cleaning agent!
Once a week is enough to keep your computer “living” much cleaner....

Now lets move to the more “geeky” side, Your OS (operating system) also gets dusty, the thing is we cant see it!
Using tools like Ccleaner for windows and mac-keeper for Mac, can keep your OS fresh and clean making it run faster, stable and less worry free. Imagine the OS as a big file, every once in a wile it has to be sorted! The same with your OS, sometimes files can land where they are not needed or Must be, using programs and application to get this files where they need to be will put the dust to rest on another machine not ours!

Making a switch from Windows to Linux

Making a switch from windows to Linux isn't that difficult, all you need is the will to completely do it!
You have to remember always adapt. Not using windows any more, means not using most windows programs, you will have to learn seeking alternatives. Lets say you use the Microsoft Office suite
you will now have to learn using the Open office suite. Mainly all the programs will be different in application form. Your main task will be to turn PROGRAMS into APPLICATIONS.

New application awaits you, like Thunderbird mail client, rhythmbox music player, VLC video player, OpenOffice.org office suite and pidgin IM.

Also new ways of doing things. You are used of using a control panel in windows right?
Well in the biggest Linux distro ubuntu, there is no control panel, which means doing thing way differently. Alternatively you have a “control panel” menu called the settings menu.

Also some stuff isn't that easy to do, just like on windows (only x2 worse). Doing things like:
~ installing an unknown application that isn't in the ubuntu software centre nether in the synaptic centre, you will have to go and add the whole “registry” path for that application (which by the way is called the repository)
~ The Drivers :(, That is halfway fixed, but on some Linux ditsro(the Linux flavour) You don't even get it to work out of the box!
~ and mainly some other “stuff”

The choice is yours, ether stay with the easy windows or go to the Linux experience, that offers:
~ freedom of choice, ~ virus free computing, ~ a really great experience when everything finally works, ~ really cool effects and skins!

Earcandy, some how related to eyecandy? ~ Linux

I have been using ubuntu nearly a year and a half now and I have never seen this application.

Earcandy is an application which is interpret using Pulseaudio. The app fade out music whenever you receive a Skype call or make one, also when you have music playing and then switch to a video.

Imagine, you are rocking to your favourite type of music and all of a sudden you receive a Skype call, (you quickly need to mute the music and awnser the call), while doing this you worry about the caller and when he might put down. In a hurry you ACCIDENTALLY turn the music LOUDER instead of softer. finally when the music is muted the caller already putted down.

Now imagine this! You are rocking to your type of music when suddenly the music fade out and you hear the Skype caller tone, you press answer :) and enjoy your call.

download earcandy today at the Ubuntu software center....

To settle the AV fights right here! Comodo is the best!

HERE IS a video posted by the popular AV reviewer on youtube!
The security programs reviewed is MSE (microsoft security essentials), Comodo free internet security, AVIRA, AVAST!, PC tools, AVG, Immunet
don't comment if you HAVEN'T SEEN the videos! thanks :)  ( I use Comodo, and you)
