Skype "skelms" and thief's

Just as with Facebook, and it's security flaws, Skype also has it's....
Let me start: What is skype?
Skype is a software application that allows users to make voice calls over the Internet. Calls to other users within the Skype service are free, while calls to both traditional landline telephones and mobile phones can be made for a fee using a debit-based user account system.
Do you use Skype? If yes, be very careful!

There are thief's who created a harmful peace of "code", that trick users in presenting that you have a new Skype
Contact, that want to add you. Once allowed you will be greeted with the following screen and options

You don't need to have sleepless nights because of this "code", because every person is personally infected.
(It doesn't spread like a Virus on Facebook or the internet) You have to first accept the "contact" to your contact list, for the Virus to be activated.
Once the malicious code is in place, anyone in the thief's contacts list is vulnerable as soon as they log in to their account. By logging in, your contacts’ profiles are updated, including their phone number information.

The only Skype clients (Skype versions/programs) being attacked is version 5.3.0.120 for Mac OS X and Windows. (To check your version, go to About Skype in the Program/Application).
In cases like this, it’s safe to assume that Skype will be coming out with a new version of its software once this vulnerability is corrected.

Remember: ALWAYS KEEP YOUR SOFTWARE UP TO DATE

Facebook video call

It's been out now for a while, and yes it's from Skype (Skype now owned by Microsoft), it's the Facebook Video Call feature...

My opinion is, the video quality is poor!
To even get it started is a mess, I wasted time doing reboots with my laptop and multiple downloads of the add-on...

To get started see  Facebook page
Also when I finally called someone, they didn't have the add-on :(, *sight*

This is one heck of a job getting it to work, also helping others get it! (people I work with, doesn't even know how to plug in a mouse)

It didn't pick up my input sound, and my webcam had some trouble. I know for others this was a smooth install, but for me it wasn't.

You are now able to call someone straight from there profile
Even leave a video message

Microsoft - Skype deal, what happens with MSN?

MSN (Microsoft messenger) is the universal Windows instant messenger (IM). It comes bundled with Windows Live which included a Photo, Email, video editor and IM applications.  Now that Microsoft has bought Skype, What will happen with MSN or Windows live?

Firstly, what and who is Skype?
Skype is an voice over IP (internet port) application for Windows/Mac/Linux. In basic terms it's for Live voice and video calls over the internet with contacts you added. Skype has millions if not billions of monthly users, free and paid!

You might know MSN From previous blog posts.

Now the biggest question is what will happen with Windows live or MSN?
I personally don't see Windows live being removed anytime soon, it has to many valuable applications, like:  the E-mail app (application) and the video editor (since Windows movie maker was removed on windows 7)
There are of-course alternatives to these app's. For E-mail, there is Outlook (from Microsoft) or Thunderbird (from Mozilla)
For video editing, there is Sony Vegas (form Sony) or Final Cut Pro (from Adobe)

If I were Microsoft, I would dis-continue it, since Skype is really up and coming (if you read other blog's, you might have notice that  it now supports Facebook chat and "news feed"). They can make Skype a really good product, for Windows as well the windows phone (Microsoft's smartphone). Also making this there main goal for a IM app, with the existing users , could only mean good expansion for Microsoft on other platforms.

Facebook and Skype As Friends ?

Facebook and Skype as friend and team up ?

As said Skype 5.0 has some new feature and some Facebook users will love
like News 24 says:
"The new Skype version 5.0 for Windows includes a Facebook tab and integrates Facebook's news feed and phonebook into Skype, the Luxembourg-based Skype said in a statement"

"Skype users can call Facebook friends directly on mobile or landline phones, send SMS messages or make free Skype-to-Skype calls to Facebook friends who are also Skype users, it said."

that sounds great !

"They can also post status updates to Facebook that can be synched with Skype "mood" messages and comment on Facebook friends' updates and wall posts."

Seems like Facebook just got themselves a great program for persons to use instead of going on the Facebook website.
Just a pity you can't chat from the Skype program/application.
I would have preferred it more if they use like a browser inside Skype, but thats there development...
Every other site that can connect with Facebook isn't that good,The best is to go on the site.
What do you think ?
